Knobby Hedgeapples--a good thing!

Hedgeapples...either you love 'em or hate 'em...

I love their color and rough knobby shape...and their delicate scent. I haven't had any of these for years...one of my co-workers was telling me about how they had fallen from the trees this weekend. Playthings for the squirrels. She brought some for me after lunch. They're supposed to be insect repellents...especially for spiders.

Never heard of'em. Never saw one. Nothing. Do you eat them?

I really love how they look, but I picked some up a couple years ago to go in a bowl on the dining room table. They looked so pretty. That night, in the middle of the night, I woke up and wondered what the sharp cloying scent I was smelling was! It was the hedgeapples. I actually had to set them outside, and my bedroom is on the other end of the house! Love how they look, but the smell, not so much:>)

They are quite unusual looking, but pretty in their own way. I will keep my eyes peeled for them now that I know they are falling from the trees.

I've never seen or heard of those before. I'll have to read more about them.

I did not know that about them, hmm I will have to go and find me some. I have seem a spider or two crawling around out side, trying to get in, but alass I squished them. Sorry if i made any one upset by saying that.
Have a great week.

Hugs;

I'd heard that about them too, but when I had a bowl of them out in the shed, they were covered in cobwebs!

Catching Up

  It's been awhile...as usual, not much going on.  As I look through photos on my phone, I decided to do a little blog post. Last Monday...
